    Ararat Fast Trekking

    Day One

    Our guide will pick you up from the airport in Agri, Igdir or Van and you will drive to Dogubayazit. After check-in at the hotel you will have free time.

    At the evening: dinner in a local restaurant with your guide.

    Day Two

    After breakfast at the hotel we will pack our luggage to minibus and start to drive to the foot of Mount Ararat. We will stop near to Cevirme village, where is starting point of our trekking tour.

    We will take our small backpacks and lunch packets prepared by our cook, and start to climb to Camp 1 located at an elevation 3200 meters. Rest of our equipment will be carried on horses. We should reach campsite after 3,5 - 5 hours of walk.

    When we reach Camp 1 small refreshment will be served (hot drinks, snacks, cookies, fresh fruits). After short rest we will pitch our tents and have free time. We can take some photos, learn Kurdish dances from our guides and porters or play popular Turkish game OKEY.

    At the evening we will have dinner.

    Overnight stay in tents at the Camp 1.

    Day Three

    We eat breakfast, pack all equipment, take our small backpacks with the most necessary things and lunch packets and start to ascent to Camp 2, located at the altitude 4200 m. That day we will walk aprox. 4-5 hours. At the campsite we pitch our tents, drink hot tea or coffee and eat some snacks. Later we have free time. We can prepare our equipment for the following day when we will climb to the summit of Mount Ararat. We can also walk around and take some photos of Small Ararat.

    At 6 p.m. we will have dinner. After hot meal we will discuss with our guide details of our ascent to the summit (what time we will start, what we have to take, ect).

    Overnight stay in tents at the Camp 2.

    Distance : 6,5 km

    Habitat : Steppe

    Average heat : +20 - +25 (Summer season)

    Day Four

    We wake up very early (depends on the weather conditions usually between 1-2 a.m.).

    Before we start to walk to the summit of Mount Ararat we will eat breakfast and one more time will control our equipment (headlamps, crampons, walking poles, clothes).

    Then we take our lunch packets and thermoses with hot tea and start ascent to the top of Ararat.

    After 5-6 hours of walk we should reach the summit, where we will have time for taking photos and celebrating our success.

    After short break on the summit we start to descent to Camp 2 at 4200 meters. We will drink hot tea or coffee, eat something and rest 1-2 hours. Later we will pack our equipment and walk down to Cevirme village. From the village we will drive to Dogubayazit, to our hotel.

    Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel in Dogubayazit.

    Elevation : 4200 meters to 5137 meters and descent to 3300 meters

    Distance : 13 - 14 km total ascent and descent

    Habitat : Alpine Tundra

    Heat : +30 / +25 / -20(Summer season) This day you will have very cold weather during our climb to summit, after summit weather always getting hotter. So, diffirence of heat can be 60° .

    Day Five

    Breakfast at the hotel. Later we will take you to the airport for your returning flight.

    Program of this Ararat tour is recommended for travellers who are already well acclimatized, because during trekking there is no extra day for acclimatization. Next day, after reaching the Ararat Camp 1 located at the altitude 3300 m, you will climb directly to Ararat Camp 2 at 4200 m. and on third day of trekking tour you will set your foot on the summit of Mount Ararat.

    Recommendations

    *Choose summer months for your trekking. The best weather condition is in July and August.

    *For better acclimatization we recommend you to climb one other mountain, before your Ararat ascent. We can organize for you trekking on Mount Nemrut, Mount Suphan, Mount Tekelti or Little/Small Ararat as your acclimatization tour.
